As much as she might struggle to admit it my mum is an excellent speaker. We'd only spoken publicly together once before at her book launch a few months ago. One thing you need to know about my mum is that she always gives herself way less credit than she deserves. Her presenting style is as clear, emotive and as well prepared as her writing style. Mine is more the unprepared "that should do the trick" approach which I also apply to cooking, cleaning, and exercising. It's a lifestyle choice, really. I felt very fortunate to speak publicly with her again the other day at the Tasmanian Suicide Prevention Community Network's Annual Suicide Prevention Forum. I think we're a good team.
I won't jibber jabber too much for this blog post. I just wanted to share a few of the sights of Tassie and say how proud I am of mum. She's been through so much shit and has really come out on top after a long time of struggling.
Two Tassie trips in 1 month was great! We tacked on a few extra days to this one and made it a bit of a family holiday. Haven't had one of those in a long time. :)
Hopefully see you again soon Tassie!
